EPISODE 161 : You Better Not Pout

The original idea was that I was going to record 2 episodes during the Christmas holidays. I recorded this one and really enjoyed it. It was recorded on Christmas Eve, 2022. After this was recorded, my holidays kind of got turned on it’s ear. My dad got pretty sick and I wasn’t able to go home for Christmas. Possibly my first Christmas away from home. I spent it with my friend, Wendi and her family. It was lovely. After that, I had a hectic week of radio where, I recorded 2 installments of my ‘Blues In Hi-Fi’ show, and 2 of my friend, Susan’s great show, ‘Border Radio’, which also airs on KPFT in Houston, TX. I’d told her that I could fill in during the holidays. All went fine, it was just a busy couple weeks. Therefore, I wasn’t able to record my quick follow up to the Christmas Eve podcast. However, fear not: I have already started getting a couple new episodes together to get 2023 rolling. I hope you had a great holidays.

There were all kinds of fun moments in this episode. We hear a huge Herman’s Hermits hit recorded by the original artists, Shinyribs takes us looking at lights in Bossier City, The Jesus & Mary Chain channel Bo Diddley, Leonard Cohen accepts the will of the higher being, the Five Sharps do a stirring version of ‘Stormy Weather’, the Seeds tell us about the Flower Lady and her assistant, The Doors Christmas album package is here, and Ray LaMontangue makes a needed appearance from a record I can’t stop playing. Plus, much more. Thank you for continued listening and support. New episodes should be along shortly. Happy New Year!
